Minnesota's Department of Veteran Affairs established theVeteran-owned Small Business Procurement Program. When registered, small businesses may be eligible for up to 12% preference in selling their products or services or bidding on construction projects to the state. In addition, they have the authority to set goals that require prime contractors to subcontract a portion of the work to certified Veteran-Owned businesses on contracts for construction or consulting services.
The MnDOT Targeted Group Business (TGB) and Veteran-owned Small Business (Veteran) programsare part of a statewide initiative to increase small business participation in state-funded projects. TGB and Veteran proposers may receive a preference in the scoring of the proposal, and contracts may include goals to increase the participation of TGB and Veteran firms as subcontractors. It states that TGB and Veteran firms will receive a preference of up to 6% in the evaluation of their proposals.
NaVOBA's mission is to create corporate contracting opportunities for America's Veteran's and Service-Disabled Veteran's Business Enterprises® (VBEs/SDVBEs) through certification, advocacy, outreach, recognition and education.
