Senate Bill 578 in 2017 "Requires the Office of the Secretary of State to annually compile information about the number of veteran-owned small businesses and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses and to provide this information to The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

Senate Bill 558 in 2021 was enacted to "Encourage and promote the use of veteran contractors in state purchasing of goods and services, state construction contracts, and state information technology procurement; to require the Department of Administration to collect and compile data on the use of veteran businesses in state contracts; and to appropriate funds to the Department of Administration for these purposes."
