  • What types of services do you offer?

Alliance Cyber delivers comprehensive IT and cybersecurity services designed to keep your organization secure, efficient, and resilient. We help businesses, nonprofits, and government contractors strengthen their defenses through cybersecurity compliance and risk management, making sure you meet strict requirements like CMMC and DFARS. Our team provides around-the-clock IT support, including network and system administration, help desk services, and asset management, so your technology runs smoothly and securely. We also assist with cloud migrations, system upgrades, and business process improvements that reduce costs and increase productivity. With more than 25 years of national security experience, we bring trusted expertise to protect sensitive information, safeguard operations, and empower your staff with the tools and training they need to succeed.

  • Who do you primarily serve?

    Businesses, nonprofits, and federal/state/local governments.

  • When and how did you start your business?

Alliance Cyber was founded in 2021 by co-founders Alec Hall and Rebecca Granger, building on more than 25 years of national security and Air Force experience. We recognized a critical gap in how small businesses, nonprofits, and defense subcontractors were being protected and launched the company as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business to provide affordable, mission-driven cybersecurity and IT support. Starting as a bootstrapped team, our first clients were suppliers and subcontractors to major defense primes. In just three years, we have expanded rapidly—growing our workforce, serving both government and commercial clients, and launching major initiatives such as the Alliance Cyber Gives Foundation and Military TransitionCON. From the beginning, our journey has been a team effort, rooted in service, integrity, and a shared commitment to protecting people and missions across the Space Coast and beyond.

From the beginning, our focus has been on industrial batteries, chargers, and maintenance services. By combining technical expertise with a commitment to service, we’ve built a company dedicated to reliability, responsiveness, and customer success.

  • What challenges did you face when starting your business?

Starting Alliance Cyber in 2021 came with challenges, but each one ultimately shaped our growth and resilience. As a bootstrapped company, we relied on significant personal investment from our co-founders to ensure success, growing deliberately and organically as revenue allowed. Building trust with defense subcontractors and nonprofits required persistence, but our reputation, expertise, and community presence quickly converted early adopters into loyal, long-term clients.

We launched in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, which in some ways proved beneficial—removing the immediate need for office space and accelerating the development of our remote workforce capabilities. Navigating complex frameworks like CMMC and DFARS could have been barriers, but our deep familiarity with those requirements allowed us to turn them into a competitive advantage.

Workforce development was another hurdle, but we leveraged the DoD SkillBridge program to bring in top-tier transitioning service members and partnered with our network of industry experts to “raise all ships.” Like many new businesses, we faced a steep learning curve around scaling processes, managing contracts, and building a steady pipeline of new work, but those early lessons became the foundation for how we operate today.

  • What has been the key to your business's success?

The key to Alliance Cyber’s success is our people, and their unwavering commitment to service, integrity, and community. We combine 25+ years of national security expertise with a people-first approach—delivering trusted IT and cybersecurity solutions while investing deeply in the success of our clients, employees, and the Space Coast community. By building lasting relationships, tailoring solutions to real-world needs, and embedding service into everything we do, we’ve earned both loyalty and impact.

  • What important lessons have you learned that can help others succeed in business?

One of the most valuable lessons we’ve learned is that relationships drive results—success comes from earning trust through integrity, transparency, and consistency. We also believe in growing deliberately: don’t chase every opportunity, but focus on sustainable wins that align with your mission and values. Finally, invest in people—whether employees, clients, or community partners. When you prioritize mentorship, workforce development, and giving back, you create a culture of loyalty and purpose that fuels long-term success.

  • What common mistakes should they be aware of and avoid?

Entrepreneurs should avoid cutting corners on integrity; short-term gains are never worth the loss of trust. Don’t chase every contract or client—stay focused on the work that aligns with your mission and strengths. Avoid growing too fast without a foundation, as rapid expansion can compromise quality and culture.  And finally, don’t underestimate the importance of investing in people and processes early—they are what sustain a business when challenges inevitably come.

  • What else would you like the NaVOBA community to know about you and your business?

At Alliance Cyber, we see ourselves not just as a cybersecurity firm, but as a veteran-led force for good. Founded by service-disabled veterans, our business is rooted in the values we carried from the Air Force—service before self, integrity, and excellence in all we do. Those values guide how we serve our clients, grow our team, and give back to our community.

We’re proud to have created the Alliance Cyber Gives Foundation, which delivers pro bono cybersecurity services to nonprofits so they can keep their resources focused on mission delivery. Through Bright Ideas STEM classroom grants, workforce internships, and SkillBridge fellowships, we’re also investing in the next generation of talent.

Our story is proof that veteran-owned businesses are more than economic drivers—they are community anchors. We measure success not just in contracts won, but in lives impacted, opportunities created, and trust earned. That’s the legacy we’re building on the Space Coast and hope to share across the NaVOBA community.
