What types of services do you offer?
3D printed jewelry and accessories, public speaking geared towards military to entrepreneur, and entrepreneurship with a disability, youth entrepreneurship
Who do you primarily serve?
The Stylish Professional (Core Persona) Profile: Women in their late 30s–50s who are career-driven, active in their community and want to look polished but expressive.
When and how did you start your business?
I started my business in 2018 after leaving the military and becoming a new mom. In the early days, I pursued my business primarily through bootstrapping and pitch contests, and I was grateful to attend the V-Wise conference very early on in my journey.
What challenges did you face when starting your business?
A few months after starting, I lost my eyesight and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. When my vision returned, I gained a renewed sense of vision for my life and purpose. That moment gave me the drive to build my business against all odds.
What has been the key to your business's success?
The true key to my success has been my faith in God. Every step of this journey has required me to lean on Him for strength, clarity and direction.
What important lessons have you learned that can help others succeed in business?
Be open to learning at every stage because the business will teach you as much as you put into it. Protect your creativity and your health because you are the greatest asset to your company. And don’t be afraid to take risks, the biggest opportunities often come on the other side of fear.
What common mistakes should they be aware of and avoid?
Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s, don’t try to do it all alone and never lose sight of your “why.”
What else would you like the NaVOBA community to know about you and your business?
Imani Cowrie is more than jewelry. We create bold, lightweight 3D-printed statement pieces that let women express themselves without sacrificing comfort. As a woman, Veteran and Black-owned business I am passionate about building with intention and showing others what is possible when faith and perseverance meet opportunity. My hope is that every piece we make carries not only style but also the story of resilience and purpose that started this journey.
