  • What types of services do you offer?

At SickFit, we provide high-performance compression socks engineered for durability, recovery, and everyday performance. Our core product line is designed to improve circulation, reduce fatigue, and support foot health — whether you're an athlete, healthcare worker, service member, or just constantly on your feet. Beyond socks, we offer private label manufacturing, fundraising programs for schools and nonprofits, and custom-branded sock collaborations for corporations, events, and government entities. SickFit also leads community impact campaigns and educational workshops that blend performance, entrepreneurship, and wellness. Everything we do is backed by our mission to change the world one sock at a time.

  • Who do you primarily serve?

    Our primary customers include:

Athletes and athletic departments – seeking performance-driven socks that support recovery, reduce fatigue, and elevate training.

Healthcare professionals – who spend long hours on their feet and need compression gear that lasts.

Military units and government agencies – who trust our military-grade durability and design for tactical environments.

Schools and nonprofits – through custom socks and fundraising programs that combine impact with style.

Retail and corporate buyers – looking for high-quality, branded socks for resale, employee wellness, or promotional use.

Everyday consumers – who care about performance, foot health, and wearing a brand that stands for something bigger.

  • When and how did you start your business?

I started SickFit on July 27, 2021, while I was still serving as an Army Engineer Officer. What began as a small idea quickly became a mission. After multiple reconstructive surgeries and years in uniform, I realized how overlooked foot health really was — especially for people constantly on the move. I saw a gap in the market for socks that could handle high performance, support recovery, and still make a bold statement. So I combined military grit with entrepreneurial vision and launched SickFit with no outside funding, just a clear purpose: to deliver premium compression socks that serve both function and culture. From selling out of my car to outfitting Olympians and military units, the journey has been powered by resilience and impact.

  • What challenges did you face when starting your business?

One of the biggest challenges was doing everything from scratch — with no outside funding, no fashion background, and while still serving full-time in the military. I had to figure out sourcing, manufacturing, e-commerce, branding, and logistics with very little margin for error. Being a woman, veteran, and minority founder in a space not used to seeing someone like me also came with barriers — getting people to take me seriously, gaining shelf space, and finding the right decision-makers wasn’t easy. On top of that, I faced major personal and physical setbacks — including multiple surgeries and even a burglary that wiped out over $25,000 in inventory. But those challenges became fuel. I stayed focused, leaned into grit, and built something that now serves athletes, veterans, schools, and entire communities.

  • What has been the key to your business's success?

The key to SickFit’s success has been strong branding, authenticity, and staying laser focused on the mission and vision. From day one, we knew who we were and who we served — high performers who demand more from their gear. We’ve never chased trends or tried to be everything to everyone. Instead, we’ve built a brand rooted in purpose, designed for impact, and driven by real stories. Every sock we produce reflects that commitment — to performance, to people, and to progress. That clarity has allowed us to grow with intention, build trust with our customers, and stand out in a saturated market.

While many small businesses are advised to build relationships and seek subcontractor opportunities, Windsor Group chose to prioritize bidding on contracts directly and often. They didn’t shy away from taking on the role of prime contractor, confidently stepping into larger opportunities. By staying agile, adaptable, and committed to doing what they say they will do, Windsor Group has been able to consistently deliver on their promises, build trust, and achieve steady growth.

  • What important lessons have you learned that can help others succeed in business?

Stay focused, get a good mentor, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Distractions will come — but clarity and consistency win. A strong mentor can help you avoid costly mistakes and expand your perspective. And asking for help isn’t weakness — it’s strategy. You can’t build something great alone. Also, trust your gut, protect your peace, and remember that growth requires pruning — not everything (or everyone) can come with you to the next level.

  • What common mistakes should they be aware of and avoid?

Chasing quick money. Not every deal is a good deal — especially if it confuses your customer or waters down your brand. Clarity beats chaos every time. Stay rooted in your mission, because when you try to be everything to everyone, you lose the very thing that makes you stand out. Don’t sacrifice long-term growth for short-term hype.

  • What else would you like the NaVOBA community to know about you and your business?

SickFit is proud to be the first woman, veteran, and minority-owned sock company of its kind — rooted in military-grade performance, built for everyday champions. We've outfitted Olympians, military units, schools, and communities across the country, and we’re just getting started. Our next chapter is focused on scaling into national retailers and outfitting workforces and athletes nationwide.

If you have connections to Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight, Scheels, REI, or Menards — introductions would be game-changing for us. We’re not just selling socks — we’re building a movement, one step at a time.
